Komodo Boat Tours from Labuan Bajo: Day Trips, Shared 3D2N Sailings and Private Charters

Labuan Bajo, since 2015 | Four phinisi with published rate cards | Every quotation confirmed in writing

A Komodo boat tour leaves from Labuan Bajo in one of four formats: a one-day trip, a shared 3D2N open trip that sails every Friday and Monday, a private 2D1N charter, or a private charter of 3D2N to 7D6N on dates you choose. Komodo Luxury (Labuan Bajo, since 2015) publishes rate cards for four phinisi, Malca, Ayvara, Catnazse and Naturalia, and quotes every trip from its reservations desk. A cabin on a shared 3D2N open trip starts from USD 300 per person (Malca, 2026 and 2027). A private charter starts from USD 5,300 per 2D1N package for the whole boat and USD 6,000 per 3D2N (Malca, 1 to 12 guests). A shared speedboat day trip starts from USD 90 per person. Rate cards of 11 September 2026, checked 24 September 2026; park charges are quoted separately. 2026 and 2027 departures are open.

Every sailing on these four phinisi includes an air-conditioned ensuite cabin, all meals on board, snorkelling equipment and the full itinerary, with hotel pickup in Labuan Bajo on day one and a drop at your hotel or the airport on the last day. Itineraries are built around Padar Island, Pink Beach, the ranger-guided dragon walk on Komodo or Rinca Island, Manta Point and Taka Makassar. A private full-day charter starts from USD 5,200 for the whole boat on Catnazse (1 to 12 guests, 2026) and USD 5,100 on Naturalia (1 to 8 guests, 2026); Malca and Ayvara start at 2D1N. Dragon sightings are never promised; the ranger-guided walk is how you look for them. The Harbour Master regulates all sailing, so any itinerary is tentative and may change with sea conditions.

Getting there: fly from Bali (DPS) to Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo (LBJ), about 1 hour 15 minutes; there is no scheduled boat from Bali. Every current route is listed in our flights to Labuan Bajo guide, and the door-to-door option is on our Bali to Komodo package page.

A Note on the Route
Destinations may adjust based on weather, tide and field conditions; the Harbour Master regulates all sailing, so any itinerary is tentative and may change with sea conditions. All times in WITA (UTC+8). Private charter itineraries can be rebuilt entirely around your preferences on request.

Komodo Boat Tour Pricing

Komodo boat tour prices in 2026 run from USD 90 per person for a shared speedboat day trip to USD 5,300 per 2D1N package for a whole private phinisi (Malca, 1 to 12 guests), and depend on tour format, vessel, duration and guest band. Private charters are priced per package for the whole boat, not per person; we do not break the package down by night. Here is how the pricing structure works.

Tour Type & Duration

Prices vary by format and duration. A shared open trip is priced per cabin per person for a fixed 3D2N; a private charter is priced per package for the whole boat, from a full day to 7D6N, and up to 12D11N on Catnazse.

Boat Quality

Prices depend on the vessel. Malca, Ayvara, Catnazse and Naturalia each have a published rate card by guest band; speedboats and partner vessels are quoted by the desk for your date.

Season

Our rate cards are set by year, not by season. Malca and Ayvara keep the same figures for 2026 and 2027; Catnazse and Naturalia rise in 2027. The year of your trip sets the column.

Group Size

Shared trips are sold per person, so you pay for your cabin only. A private charter is one package for the entire vessel by guest band, so the cost per head falls as the group grows.

Government Komodo National Park entrance, ranger and harbour fees are set by the authorities and are quoted separately — they are not included in the figures above, and neither are flights, diving supplements or alcohol. A 30% deposit secures a booking; the balance is due 7–30 days before departure. 2027 departures are already open.

Best For: Which Komodo Boat Tour Suits You

Best for a first visit with limited time

The shared speedboat day trip from USD 90 per person / day covers Padar Island, Komodo or Rinca ranger trek, Pink Beach and Manta Point between 06:00 and 18:00.

Best for solo travellers and couples

The 3D2N shared open trip at USD 300–850 per person puts you on a phinisi with 8–22 other guests on a fixed route — the most affordable way to sleep on board.

Best for families and groups of 8 or more

A whole-boat charter from USD 5,300 per night works out at better value per person than shared cabins once you fill the vessel. Compare the fleet on our whole-boat charter pricing for Komodo page, or read how the traditional wooden vessels differ on phinisi sailing yachts with a full crew.

Best for divers and multi-day itineraries

A vessel with a compressor, Nitrox and a dedicated dive deck is the right call for 4 to 11 nights — see the multi-day liveaboard sailing itineraries that run Komodo year round.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Komodo boat tour is a guided sailing expedition through Komodo National Park, departing from Labuan Bajo in Flores, Indonesia. Tours range from 1-day speedboat excursions to multi-day liveaboard yacht charters, visiting iconic destinations like Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo Island for dragon trekking, Manta Point for snorkeling with manta rays, and Taka Makassar sandbar, with onboard meals and professional guides included.

Four formats, all from Labuan Bajo. A one-day trip by speedboat or on a full-day phinisi charter. A shared 3D2N open trip, sold per cabin, sailing every Friday and Monday on a fixed three-day, two-night rhythm. A private 2D1N charter, the shortest overnight on our rate card. And a private charter of 3D2N to 7D6N on dates you choose, with Catnazse available up to 12D11N.

Yes. Komodo boat tours are highly family-friendly, with shallow snorkeling sites, gentle island hikes, dedicated crew support, and flexible itineraries adaptable for children. Many families with kids aged 4+ complete 3D2N trips successfully. Private charters offer added flexibility for family schedules, kid-friendly meals, and safer environments as crews know exactly who is aboard.

For first-time visitors, 3D2N multi-day trips on premium Phinisi boats offer the best balance of comfort, coverage, and value. This duration allows visiting destinations in Komodo National Park, from Padar Island sunrise, Pink Beach, Komodo Island dragon trekking, Manta Point snorkeling, and Taka Makassar without feeling rushed, while experiencing overnight sailing and full onboard hospitality unavailable on day trips.

A day trip starts with a 06:00 to 06:30 pickup and returns the same afternoon, so you see the park without sleeping on board. One night on a private 2D1N gives you the dragons, Padar and Pink Beach; the second night unlocks Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Three days and two nights is the format most of our charters run and the only rhythm our shared sailings keep.
Yes. A private charter means the whole boat is yours: dates, pace, cabins, crew and chef. On the four phinisi on our rate card a private 2D1N starts from USD 5,300 for the whole boat and a 3D2N from USD 6,000 (Malca, 1 to 12 guests); a private speedboat day charter starts from USD 800 per boat. Guest count sets the band. Rate cards of 11 September 2026; park charges are quoted separately.
All our boat tours depart from and return to Labuan Bajo harbour. From Bali you fly Denpasar (DPS) to Komodo Airport (LBJ), about 1 hour 15 minutes; there is no scheduled boat from Bali. The desk collects you from your Labuan Bajo hotel and drops you at your hotel or the airport on the last day. A door-to-door package built on a private charter is quoted as one total.
Yes. All licensed Komodo boat tour operators must comply with strict Komodo National Park environmental regulations, including waste management protocols, reef-safe anchoring, and wildlife protection guidelines.
The classic island-hopping route links five signature stops in one loop from Labuan Bajo: a sunrise hike on Padar Island for the three-beach panorama, a ranger-guided Komodo dragon trek on Komodo or Rinca Island, swimming and snorkeling at Pink Beach, drift-snorkeling with mantas at Manta Point, and a stop at the Taka Makassar sandbar; on multi-day tours Kalong Island's flying-fox sunset closes the day. Day trips compress the highlights into 8–10 hours by speedboat; 3D2N phinisi tours sail the same route at an unhurried pace with overnight anchorages.
